Vermicompost is the product of vermiculture. It has many features that make it one of the best fertilizers on the market today:
Deep-burrowing earthworm vermicompost is not only compost with nutrients but also has the culture of micro-organisms which, when provided with organic waste, will convert it into manure in a continuous process. Further applications of compost are therefore, not required to be fed to the plant as with surface earthworm vermi-compost which has only one time utility, being devoid of micro-organisms like cow dung manure and is not a continuous organic compost manufacturing factory as with deep-burrowing earthworm vermi-compost. Costwise, the intial applications of deep-burrowing earthworm vermi-compost are, therefore, a one time cost as asgainst the cost of successive applications of surface earthworm vermi-compost. Consequently, the overall cost of deep-burrowing earthworm vermi-compost works out to be cheaper, though intially, the cost may appear higher per kg., as the overall quantities used will be much less and the output of fruit and flower improved due to continuous availability of compost being manufactured around the plant.
